Reading / Spelling / 100th Day Celebration – Week of January 17-20

Our spelling words this week are related to math and our “100th Day Celebration” which will be on Friday.  The words are: ten, twenty, thirty, fourty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, and one-hundred.  There will not be a challenge word as these words are challenging enough.

Your child should have brought home a note today regarding our “100th Day Celebration”.  Each child is to bring in a collection of 100 things, something that will fit in his/her backpack.  Also, in addition, I have asked each family to send in an item for us to use that day as part of our celebration.  I must apologize for the short notice.  I intended to send it home on Thursday, but we were planting seeds up to the very end of the day, and I just forgot.  If it is a hardship for you to bring the item circled on your child’s list, just let me know and I will be happy to pick it up.  Those items may be brought in any day this week.

Also, don’t forget this is is the week for our reading projects to be brought in.  What fun to see and hear about the children’s lives!  Since we are doing this, we will not be doing our normal reading curriculum until next week. Your child’s reading homework this week is to read his/her library books at home and be ready to test on them the next day.
